Abstract
This article analyzes the legal viability of integrated action between the Military Police of the State of Paraíba (PMPB) and the Municipal Guard of Campina Grande (GMCG) in the suppression of peace disturbance occurrences. Developed through bibliographic and documentary review, the study examines the normative framework of each institution, the legal regime of peace disturbances, the legal foundations of interinstitutional cooperation, and operational integration experiences in other Brazilian municipalities. The research problem stems from the real context of Campina Grande — where peace disturbance occurrences represent a significant portion of the 2nd Military Police Battalion's operational workload —, articulating it with the normative tension between the Military Police's constitutional competence for ostensive policing and the growing Municipal Guard's role in locally classified administrative infractions. It concludes that integration is legally viable, provided it is operationalized through formal cooperation instruments and respects the constitutional limits of each organization, with the enactment of a municipal normative act to regulate the model in Campina Grande being recommended.
