Este trabalho teve como objetivo analisar os homicídios ocorridos na zona urbana de Santa Rita-PB no período de janeiro de 2021 a dezembro de 2024, através de uma abordagem quantitativa descritiva. Foram analisados dados da Secretaria da Segurança e da Defesa Social do Estado da Paraíba, Polícia Militar da Paraíba, Anuário Brasileiro de Segurança Pública e Sistema de Informação de Mortalidade do Ministério da Saúde. Através de uma abordagem quantitativa descritiva, a pesquisa procurou caracterizar o perfil das vítimas, mapear as áreas e horários de maior incidência e identificar o instrumento utilizado para praticar os homicídios. Os resultados revelam padrões territoriais e temporais da violência letal, indicando a concentração dos crimes em bairros específicos, majoritariamente à noite, com predomínio do uso de armas de fogo. Além disso, foi observado que uma parcela significativa das vítimas possuía algum envolvimento anterior com o sistema penal. O estudo também apresenta uma perspectiva sobre a influência de fatores socioeconômicos, educacionais e estruturais, além do baixo índice de condenações, para prática do crime de homicídio no município e evidencia a necessidade de políticas públicas mais eficazes para o combate a violência letal na cidade de Santa Rita-PB.

This study aimed to analyze homicides that occurred in the urban area of Santa Rita, Paraíba, from January 2021 to December 2024, using a quantitative descriptive approach. Data were analyzed from the State Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense of Paraíba, the Military Police of Paraíba, the Brazilian Yearbook of Public Security, and the Mortality Information System of the Ministry of Health. Through a quantitative descriptive approach, the research sought to characterize the profile of the victims, map the areas and times of highest incidence, and identify the instruments used to commit the homicides. The results reveal territorial and temporal patterns of lethal violence, indicating the concentration of crimes in specific neighborhoods, mostly at night, with a predominance of firearms. Additionally, a significant portion of the victims had prior involvement with the criminal justice system. The study also presents a perspective on the influence of socioeconomic, educational, and structural factors, as well as the low conviction rate, on the occurrence of homicides in the municipality, highlighting the need for more effective public policies to combat lethal violence in the city of Santa Rita, Paraíba.
