A violência doméstica e familiar tem se apresentado como um problema cada vez mais presente no cenário brasileiro, despertando assim, ações por parte dos poderes públicos que visem à sua prevenção e combate, inclusive na área da segurança. Dentre essas ações em nível estadual, tem-se o Programa Integrado Patrulha Maria da Penha. Nesse sentido, este artigo buscou analisar a atuação do Programa Integrado Patrulha Maria da Penha no enfrentamento à violência doméstica e familiar na Paraíba. Nesse contexto, serão abordados a violência doméstica, seus tipos e ciclos, os principais marcos legais no Brasil de proteção à mulher e a Patrulha Maria da Penha na Paraíba. Para realização da pesquisa, adotou-se uma metodologia quantitativa que considerou dados obtidos através da Secretaria de Estado da Segurança e da Defesa Social da Paraíba, do Tribunal de Justiça da Paraíba e do Programa Integrado Patrulha Maria da Penha. Recorreu-se também à análise documental e legislação referente ao tema.

Domestic and family violence has become an increasingly prevalent problem in Brazil, thus prompting actions by public authorities aimed at preventing and combating it, including in the area of security. Among these actions at the state level is the Maria da Penha Patrol Integrated Program. In this sense, this article sought to analyze the performance of the Maria da Penha Patrol Integrated Program in combating domestic and family violence in Paraíba. In this context, domestic violence, its types and cycles, the main legal frameworks in Brazil for the protection of women and the Maria da Penha Patrol in Paraíba will be addressed. To conduct the research, a quantitative methodology was adopted that considered data obtained through the State Secretariat for Security and Social Defense of Paraíba, the Court of Justice of Paraíba and the Maria da Penha Patrol Integrated Program. Documentary analysis and legislation related to the subject were also used.
